Hailing Kashmiri people for observing India’s Independence Day as a black day Dukhtaran-e-Millat president Syedah Aasiyeh Andrabi has said that it doesn’t suit India to celebrate its independence while it has occupied the state of Jammu Kashmir “illegally and illogically”. She said that by celebrating 14th August and observing 15th as black day Kashmiri people have once again made it clear that they do not want to remain with India but are eager to end the forced and illegal Indian occupation.
In a statement issued to KNS, she said that a general strike was observed throughout the valley which is no less than a referendum against the Indian occupation. She said that India has held this part of land forcibly for decades now but it has miserably failed to win hearts and minds of the oppressed people. “World has seen once again that on 14th August ,Pakistan Independence Day, Kashmir celebrated while as the Indian Independence day has been observed as a black day which should be eye opener for India” she said and added that instead of accepting the reality India is forcing the government employees , students and even paying some laborers to attend the Independence Day ceremonies in the fortified stadiums just to give a false impression as if Kashmiri’s have participated in the ceremonies out of love for India.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
She said that many government employees were forced to attend the ceremonies and their attendance was marked right at the venues of these ceremonies. “We have reports that employees were threatened of dire consequences for not attending the ceremonies so were the students but this way India can befool its people for some more time but cannot change the reality of Kashmir”. Explaining she said that Kashmir was never a part of India and the people of this occupied land are struggling to end the occupation. “Reality is that people across valley hoisted green flags yesterday, despite being under curfew, and observed your Independence Day as a black day” she said addressing India. She called upon the Indian youth to ponder upon this harsh reality of Kashmir and asked them to press their government to shun the rigidity and end the occupation of Jammu Kashmir. “The youth in India should ask their leaders as to why Kashmiri’s hoist Pakistani flags and salute them while as they observe Indian Independence Day as a black day” she said and alleged that the Indian government is deceiving even its own people by hiding the truth from them.
