On World Tuberculosis Day 3 Kashmir districts receive gold medals

 Srinagar, March 24: (KNS) On the eve of World Tuberculosis Day three Kashmir districts Anantnag, Kupwara and Pulwama were awarded gold medals and one bronze for Baramulla at a function held at Delhi.

 
The event was attended by a joint team headed by Additional Chief Secretary Health and Medical Education, Vivek Bhardwaj, Director Health Services Kashmir, Dr Mushtaq Ahmad Rather, Deputy Commissioners of Anantnag, Kupwara and Pulwama and DTOs and STO.
 
They had gone to receive the gold medals in Delhi which were given to them by the Union Health Minister Dr Mansukh Mandaviya.
 
More recently Anantnag, Kupwara and Pulwama have shown progress of 60-80% reduction in TB cases and have claimed Gold category while Baramulla district has shown progress of about 20% and is under Bronze category along with 55 other districts in the entire country. (KNS)
