Srinagar, Nov 23 (KNS): Following the call given by the separatist leadership including Hurriyat (G) chairman, Syed Ali Geelani, Hurriyat (M) chairman, Mirwaiz Molvi Umar Farooq and JKLF chief, Muhammad Yasin Malik, a peaceful protest was organized by the people at Audoora Qalamabad village of Langate area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
According to KNS correspondent, Raja Akbar, witnesses said that as soon as the Zuhar (afternoon) prayers ended in the local Masjid, people mostly youth took to streets at Audoora Qalamabad area and marched towards Chontipora.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
They said that hundreds of people participated in the protest march and raised anti-India and pro-freedom slogans.
The protesters according to local sources later dispersed peacefully.
Pertinently, the leadership in a joint protest programme had called for a protest march today in Qalamabad today. (KNS)
