On his last day in service, Iqbal Khanday given warm farewell

‘Have no intention to join politics’

Chief Secretary Iqbal Khanday, who finally called it quits from 37-years long active government service today, was given a warm farewell and bode adieu by large number of officers and officials of the civil secretariat here.
Around 5 pm, Khanday was taken out from his official chamber at third floor in civil secretariat in the form of a procession by the civil secretariat employees. Principal Secretary to Chief Minister B B Vyas saw him off at the gate.
Khanday applied for VRS few days before and made it clear that August 31 will be his last day of the active government service.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelHis VRS decision is attributed to the differences between him and the political executive.
Talking to KNS, Khanday said that he has not thought about his future plans as yet. He also made it clear that he was not having any intention to join politics. “Frankly speaking I have no future plans, nor do have I any intention to join politics,” said the outgoing Chief Secretary. (KNS)
