Srinagar, May 13 (KNS): On the appeal of Chairman Hurriyat (G) Syed Ali Geelani the people today at different places in Kashmir held funeral prayers in absentia for Ameer Jamaat-i-Islami Bangladesh Moulana Motiur Rahman Nizami who was hanged by the Bangladesh government.
According to a statement issued to KNS, thousands of people after accomplishing the Friday congregational prayers in Masjid Bilal at Aabi Guzar the Bund Lalchowk participated in the funeral prayers.
In Srinagar the funeral prayers were led by Tehreek-e-Hurriyat senior leader Raja Mehraj-ud-din who was accompanied by Umar Adil Dar, Rameez Raja and Javaid Ahmad Baba while as Moulana Mudasir Nadwi led the funeral prayers at Pantha Chowk, Umar Rafiq Mir at Lasjan, Rayees Ahmad Mir at Sadarkoot Sumbal, Salmaan Yousuf at Malpora Bandipora, Danish Mushtaq at Watpora, Master Ali Mohammad led the funeral prayers in absentia at Gund Jahangir.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Tehreek-e-Hurriyat also organized funeral prayers for Shaheed Moulana Nizami at Handwara, Langate, Lal Masjid Kralpora Kupwara, Kulangam Handwara and at other district headquarters.
The people on the occasion raised slogans against the tyrannical rule in Bangladesh and condemned the anti-Islam actions of the Bangladesh government. (KNS)
