Bandipora, June 6 (KNS): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament Ghulam Ali Khatana on Saturday launched a scathing attack on the Omar Abdullah-led government, alleging that it has failed to deliver on its promises and remains more focused on publicity campaigns than addressing the concerns of the people.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a BJP workers' training programme in Bandipora, Khatana claimed that public grievances continue to remain unaddressed while the government is busy with "photo opportunities, marathons and promotional events."

He further alleged that dissatisfaction is growing within the ruling National Conference (NC), claiming that several of its own legislators are unhappy with the party's functioning and leadership.

"The government has failed to reflect the aspirations of the people. Even NC's own MLAs are disappointed with the way affairs are being handled," Khatana said.

The BJP leader also accused the administration of adopting a selective approach towards development, alleging that resources and developmental funds are being concentrated in a few constituencies, including Ganderbal and the constituency represented by the Deputy Chief Minister, while several other areas continue to face neglect.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

Khatana criticised the NC-Congress alliance, accusing it of promoting dynastic politics and ignoring the genuine concerns of common citizens.

On the issue of statehood restoration, he alleged that the National Conference was attempting to mislead the public by portraying protests and political campaigns as a means to secure statehood.

"Restoration of statehood is a decision that rests with the Union Government. The NC is creating a false narrative despite knowing the constitutional position on the matter," he said.

He also alleged that the ruling alliance has failed to effectively represent the interests of the people of Jammu and Kashmir and has not fulfilled the commitments made during the Assembly elections. (KNS)
