Jammu, Jan 8(KNS): Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Thursday unveiled the Jammu and Kashmir Finance and Accounts Society (JAKFAS) Annual Digital Calendar 2026, themed “From Potential to Prosperity”, highlighting the Union Territory’s development journey across sectors.
Congratulating JAKFAS for bringing out the calendar, Abdullah said the initiative reflects the natural, human and institutional strengths of Jammu and Kashmir and its transition towards sustainable growth. He said professional initiatives of such nature help document progress and reinforce the government’s focus on reform-driven development.
The calendar was unveiled in the presence of Advisor to the Chief Minister Nasir Aslam Wani, Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister Dheeraj Gupta, and senior officers of the Finance Department, including Director General Accounts and Treasuries Fayaz Ahmad Lone, Director General Codes Mahesh Das, Director General Funds Organisation Yaqoob Itoo, Director General Budget Mohammad Sultan Malik, and JAKFAS President Rashim Deepika.

Earlier, JAKFAS President Rashim Deepika said each month of the calendar features curated visuals depicting development initiatives, key economic sectors, cultural heritage and important milestones. She said the calendar presents a collective narrative of growth and transformation in Jammu and Kashmir.
The event was attended by JAKFAS Vice President (Jammu) Rahul Mahajan, Publicity Secretary Tariq Malik, Joint Director Codes Sonika Arora and other officers. Vice President (Kashmir) Rafiq Shah, General Secretary Mohd Akram Thakkar, Finance Secretary Dr Anand Thakur Sen, Sports Secretary Simarjeet Singh, Cultural-cum-Literary Secretary Sonam Singh, Media In-charge Hitesh Choudhary and several other officers participated virtually.
Officials said the JAKFAS Digital Calendar 2026 serves as a visual and organisational record of progress across sectors and reflects the Union Territory’s commitment to development, reform and participatory governance.(KNS).
