Srinagar, Oct 18 (KNS): Sheikh Rashid, Member of Parliament from north Kashmir and leader of the Awami Ittihad Party (AIP), accused Jammu & Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah of being in league with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Rashid criticized the cabinet resolution demanding the restoration of J&K's statehood, labeling it as contradictory to the National Conference's (NC) long-standing claims. He pointed out that the NC had promised to challenge the abrogation of Article 370, but Omar Abdullah was now shifting focus solely to statehood restoration.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
According to Rashid, statehood restoration was already pledged by the Prime Minister and the Home Minister, and turning it into a major issue amounted to betrayal.
He further accused Omar of following in the footsteps of his grandfather, Sheikh Abdullah, whom he claimed also betrayed the people of J&K.
Rashid also questioned the Omar-led government’s stance on the capital of the region, following the end of the traditional Darbar Move practice in J&K. (KNS)
