Omar, Mehbooba unnerved due to emergence of Congress in J&K: Irfan Naqib

Srinagar, Apr 28 (KNS): Terming National Conference (NC) Vice President Omar Abdullah and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president Mehbooba Mufti as two sides of a same coin, District Congress Committee (DCC) Srinagar President Irfan Naqib today said that sensing their defeat at the hands of Congress in Anantnag Lok Sabha seat, the two leaders have got unnerved.

In a statement issued to KNS, Irfan Naqib said the leaders of the two parties have always played the dubious role, pushing Kashmir to quagmire. “When in power, they speak one language and out of power their tone is different. Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti have has broken all records of hypocrisy.”

“NC and PDP are responsible for the problems Kashmir faces today. For vote politics, they have always played with the sentiments of Kashmiri people. And today again they are trying to play the same trick. These days to secure votes, they are making false promises with the people and as soon they get power they forget about their promises. This has been happening for decades, but now the people of state are aware of the tricks of these double speak politicians,” he said.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

Stating that the success of the Congress party has unnerved the NC and the PDP, Irfan Naqib said, “After first phase of voting in Anantnag Lok Sabha constituency, the leaders of the NC and PDP are feeling jittery as people have voted for JKPCC President G A Mir sahib wholeheartedly. Mir sahib’s popularity and faith among the people has scared the NC and the PDP leaders. These power-hungry parties are afraid of Congress party’s emergence in the state.”

The Congress leader said that not only will Congress win the majority of the seats across the country, but it will also be the number one party in Jammu and Kashmir. “Congress is the only party in Jammu and Kashmir which has base in all the three regions of the state. We will win in Ladakh, Jammu and Kashmir and after Assembly elections, the Congress will from its own government in the state,” he said.

However, he appreciated the role of NC President Farooq Abdullah saying that he was unlike his son Omar and Mehbooba. “Farooq sahib is a mature politician. His contributions for the development of the state are immense,” he said. (KNS)
