The locals have hailed the efforts of MLC Mohammad Khurshid Alam for developing two important schools of the old city Srinagar into the model educational institutions.
In a statement issued to KNS, they said that the Government Higher Secondary School Nowhatta and Government Higher Secondary School Khaniyar were craving for the official attention since decades and the timely intervention of the Alam was indeed a laudable effort.
Meanwhile, Alam said that the priority of the Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed was to ensure quality education in the old city schools, which earlier have witnessed the official apathy in terms of delay in funds over renovating the dilapidated school building and other infrastructure due to the inaction and inefficiency of the previous regimes in the state.
He said on the directions of the Chief Minister Rs 30 lakh will be spent out of MLC CDF so the government run schools in old city will impart quality education to the kids enrolled there.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel“The amount shall be forwarded to the Director School Education Kashmir, so that the work to develop these schools is taken on fast track basis,” Alam said, hailing the measures taken by the Chief Minister in transforming the education sector in Jammu and Kashmir.
Alam maintained that smart class rooms shall be introduced in these government schools so that children could attain education at par with the private institutions. “Besides that the school buildings shall be renovated and best possible infrastructure will be ensured in the government run schools in the old city of Srinagar,” he said adding: “Apart from these schools Rs 2 lakhs have already been released to Palpora High school so that the institution could set up computer labs and other related infrastructure.”
