Officer in JK Assembly loots State exchequer, misleads govt on mother’s financial dependency

Meet me in person, I don't discuss things on phone, says the officer

Srinagar, Mar 07 (KNS): Cashing on the disease of his mother, a W&W Officer in J&K State Legislative Assembly misled government by asking for remuneration of his mother’s medical expenses, while the patient receives pension of her late husband.
The officer Qazi Mushtaq Ahmad misled government by saying that his mother, who has a monthly annuity, was financially dependent on him. The fact is that his mother is already receiving pension from the State exchequer.
He drafted an application to Secretary Legislative Assembly that his mother is undergoing a costly medical treatment and is solely dependent on him. According to documents lying with KNS, Ahmad was paid an amount of rs 1, 71, 632. However, according to official sources, the officer has misled the government as his mother is not dependent on her son for finances, making Ahmad’s claim for reimbursement a hocus-pocus by hiding that his mother was receiving a monthly pension from the state coffers already.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
On being contacted and questioned by KNS correspondent the officer evaded answering by saying that he would explain the matter ‘in-person’ with the correspondent in conversation.
Official sources also revealed that Ahmad had earlier in a similar fashion drawn out from government funds an amount of 2.5 lakh rupees for the treatment of his late father on the same request of ‘dependency’ while his late father was then a government employee. (KNS)
