Srinagar, Jan 23 (KNS): United Jihad Council (UJC) on Monday, appealed people to observe January 26, as ‘black day’ to protest against the ‘reign of terror’ unleashed by India in Kashmir.
In an e-mailed statement issued to KNS, UJC spokesman, Syed Sadaqat Hussain while quoting the UJC chief, Syed Salah-ud-din, as saying, “That India has suppressed basic human rights of Kashmiris and muzzled their aspirations. People should observe it as black day as sin of protest.”
While addressing UJC meeting, He said, “In January 1990 indian forces did several massacres and bloodbath in Kashmir in which, 120, people were killed while 300 were maimed-Gaw Kadal, Handwara and Kupwara massacres”.
He said, “The hollowness of Indian democracy has got exposed as fanatic organizations have been directly ruling the country. India has been using brute force in Kashmir. Youth are arrested and leadership is being detained in their houses. Whole Valley has been turned into a garrison,” the UJC spokesperson Syed Sadaqat Hussain, in a statement today, quoted Salahuddin as saying.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
“The people of Kashmir are demanding freedom, which was also promised by the Indian leaders but failed to fulfill that. Indian forces are committing atrocities on the people of Kashmir who are taking to streets to demand their rights,” he said.
He said, “India has used pellets against the kids to blind them while many were arrested tortured, Such kinds of atrocities are not being carried in Kashmir only but India is suppressing its minorities in Indian states as well.” Salahudin said
“People of India particularly Kashmiris have no moral obligation to observe Jan 26,” UJC chief said.
“Indian State is pressing the students and other government officials to ensure their presence on Jan 26.”
He later appealed International Human Rights Organizations to press India over ‘gross human rights violation in Kashmir’. (KNS)
