Jammu, Jan 02 (KNS): Assembly was adjourned for the day after the house passed obituary motion to condole the deaths of eight former legislators.
An hour after the Governor's address boycotted by the entire opposition excepting Independent Legislator Engineer Rashid, the assembly started the proceedings with a motion on obituary references over the deaths of eight legislators including Makhan Lal Fotedar Ex-Minister, Sheikh Mohammad Maqbool Ex-Minister, Sofi Ghulam Muhi-u-din Ex-Minister, Molvi Abdul Rashid Ex-Deputy Speaker, Shabir Ahmad Salaria Ex-MP, Om Saraf Ex-MLC, Surender Kumar Abrol Ex-MLC and Dr. Naseer Ahmad Shah Ex-MLC.
Among those who spokes on the obituary references include Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh, senior National Conference leader Mohammad Shafi Uri, Congress Legislature party leader Nawang Rigzin Jora, BJP president Sat Sharma, CPI (M) Secretary M Y Tarigami, PDF Chriaman Hakim Mohammad Yasin, Bashir Ahmad Dar Peoples Conference and independent legislator from Langate Er Rashid.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
The leaders tributed all the legislators about whose deaths the obituary motion was moved by Speaker Kawinder Gupta himself. The House passed he obituary motion unanimously and observed two minutes silence and Speaker adjourned the House for the day. The house will meet for normal business tomorrow morning. (KNS)
