NTTA Welcomes Srinagar Airport Expansion, Calls it 'Game-Changer' for Tourism

 SRINAGAR, Feb 25 (KNS) : In a major boost to connectivity and infrastructure in Jammu and Kashmir, the tourism industry on Wednesday welcomed the Union Cabinet's approval for the expansion of the Civil Enclave at Srinagar International Airport, terming it a transformative decision for the region's economy.

 
The Nigeen Tourist Traders Association (NTTA) in a statement issued to KNS, hailed the government's decision, stating that the expansion addresses a long-standing demand of the travel and hospitality sector. 
 
Association Chairman Manzoor Wangnoo emphasized that as air travel is the primary gateway for visitors to the Valley, upgrading airport infrastructure is fundamental to strengthening Kashmir's position as a premier destination.
 
"The first impression of any destination begins at its airport. A modern, well-equipped civil enclave will reflect the hospitality and readiness of Kashmir to welcome the world," Wangnoo said.

The NTTA expressed gratitude to the government for prioritizing core tourism infrastructure and urged that the project be implemented in a time-bound and transparent manner. The Association stressed the importance of aligning the development with passenger amenities, safety standards, and environmental considerations.
 
"This strategic investment is essential for positioning Kashmir as a competitive, sustainable, and year-round tourism destination," Wangnoo added. The NTTA reaffirmed its commitment to collaborating with authorities to ensure the expansion translates into inclusive growth and long-term prosperity for the region. (KNS)
