Srinagar August 25 (KNS): J&K Tourism Wednesday bagged an award for the promotion of offbeat destinations at the national level at the Outlook Traveller Awards 2022. The award was given to the Tourism Department for promoting Gurez in the category of offbeat tourism destinations.
In this regard Nigeen Tourist Traders Association (NTTA) has expressed its sincere and heartiest congratulations to Dept. of Tourism for bagging the award. In a statement issued by chairman NTTA Manzoor Wangnoo, it read “ NTTA expresses heartiest congratulations to the Dept. of Tourism headed by worthy Secretary Tourism Jinab Sarmad Hafeez and his team lead by Director Tourism Kashmir Jenab GN Itoo for their efforts in making Gurez as the best offbeat destination”.
It is in place to mention that the award was presented by Union Minister for Tourism & Culture, G Kisan Reddy to Secretary Tourism, Sarmad Hafeez. The award was given to the Tourism Department for promoting Gurez in the category of offbeat tourism destinations.
“It is heartening to know that Gurez has won this place, the credit of this award goes to hard working officials of the department, tourism players who promoted this destination & stakeholders / locals for their dedication in creating such a tourist friendly environment within a short span of time”, the statement added.
