Srinagar, Sep 28 (KNS): At least ten villages comprising thousands of souls crying the deficiency of Doctor (already sanctioned) at the NTPHC.
Locals say only a pharmacist turns the PHC once a week. The lack of staff has severely compromised the patient care at the health Centre. Even patients having minor accidental injuries could not get first aid instantly needed. Last week for a simple I moved to the centre but was disappointed on seeing the Centre Closed. Many incident of women giving birth to their babies on way to SDH Zachaldara occurred due to closure of this important institution. The locals are questioning the Status of the health centre and they r also accusing successive regimes for ignoring the health centre which can Cater a huge population.
Locals here say that last year CMO Kupwara assured us that a doctor will be deployed with the health within a week but since then no doctor either of Ayurveda or MBBS turned to the centre.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelThe staff strength of the Centre is (One Doctor, One Senior pharmacist and an MMPHW).
Moreover the health centre iz functioning in a two room building, has no proper accommodation as the construction of new Complex required for the centre is yet to start. There lakh rupees were earmarked in the year 2016-2017 for construction of Doctors residential quarters but due to failure of the Executive agency to submit (DPR) Detailed project report the work was not started.
BMO Vilgam on contacting said that due to shortage of the staff in our block we could not deploy a Doctor at the disposal of NTPHC Sarmarg. (KNS)
