Nowa Gabra villagers in Karnah face acute shortage of drinking water

Kupwara, Oct 06 (KNS): The residents of Karlar Mohallah in Nowa Gabra village in Karnah area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district have complained of severe shortage of drinking water.

Locals told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that they have been facing shortage of water for the last few months.

Mohd Yousuf, a local resident said they are without drinking facilities and they approached the concerned authorities several times, for upgrading the water supply scheme as its capacity is too low, but to no avail. 

He said that the concerned authorities do not any heed to their genuine grievances and as such they are suffering immensely for the last several months.

“Our women folk have to fetch water from neighbouring localities,” he added.

They appealed to the concerned authorities to look into the matter and help resolve their grievances. (KNS)
