Says final decision for reopening of schools lies with SEC; ‘Police to file chargesheet against accused involved in acid attack within 4-5 days’

Srinagar, Feb 09 (KNS): Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Aijaz Asad on Wednesday said that the administration will bear all the expenses of acid attack victim not just for treatment but for her rehabilitation as well. 

Talking to reporters here, Asad said that in addition to bearing all expenses of treatment of acid aattack victim, the administration has provided victim’s family with all the financial assistance and the victim has been shifted to Chennai on the directions of LG Manoj Sinha. 

He said that they will bear expenses for her rehabilitation as well, so that she can start her new life. 

He said that doctors report regarding her eyesight has showed positive signs and they pray for her speedy recovery.

About regulation of sale of acid in Srinagar, he said that 13 shops were sealed yesterday, which were selling acid illegally and this drive will continue.

He also said that police were investigating the matter on a fast track basis and in the next 4-5 days they will produce and chargesheet against the accused in the court of law. 

On being asked avout reopening of schools, Asad said that the state executive committee will take a decision soon. “I appeal to everyone especially parents to get their children  vaccinated under the age of 15-18 years."

He said that when vaccination process among children gets completed, administration can reopen all schools, however, final decision lies with the SEC. (KNS)
