Northern Railway Introduces Panoramic Vistadome Coach in Kashmir, Extends Service to Katra

Jammu, Feb 10 (KNS) : Northern Railway on Tuesday announced a major upgrade to tourist and pilgrim connectivity in the region, extending a key train service to Shri Mata Vaishnodevi Katra and introducing a panoramic Vistadome coach for the first time in Kashmir.

Effective February 11, the special train (No. 04688/04687) will run from Budgam directly to the Katra base camp, instead of terminating at Banihal. The move is aimed at providing seamless travel for pilgrims and tourists.

In a significant enhancement, a Vistadome coach with glass roofs and large panoramic windows has been added to the train, offering passengers a 360-degree view of the Kashmir Valley's landscapes.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

"This pioneering amenity will boost tourism and make journeys memorable," said Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Uchit Singhal

He added that the facility allows passengers to "view the sky from the glass roof and the natural beauty through the windows."

The Vistadome coaches, operational in other tourist circuits like Konkan Railway, are being introduced in Kashmir as part of efforts to upgrade travel infrastructure in the Union Territory. (KNS)
