Northern Railway Deploys Additional ‘Scratch Rakes’ to Minimise Winter Train Delays in Jammu Division

Provision of “Scratch Rake” / Additional Rake for Timely Train Operations in Jammu Division During Winter

Jammu, Dec 23 (KNS) : Significant steps have been taken in the Jammu Division of Northern Railway to minimise delays in train operations caused by dense fog and to ensure passenger convenience during the winter season. As part of these measures, a “scratch rake” / additional rake has been arranged and kept ready for operation in case the original train is delayed due to heavy fog or other operational issues.

Under this facility, it has been decided to provide a “scratch rake” / additional rake for Train No. 12414 (Jammu Tawi–Ajmer) and Train No. 22478/22477 (Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra–New Delhi–Katra) to compensate for delays in their departure and arrival.

This decision has been taken under the direction of the Divisional Railway Manager, Vivek Kumar, and under the leadership of the Senior Divisional Commercial Manager and Senior Divisional Operations Manager, with the objective of ensuring that trains delayed due to fog during the winter season can be operated on time. These arrangements will help passengers reach their destinations without unnecessary inconvenience.
