‘Interacts with hospital staff & locals; demands installation of ECG machine’

Srinagar, Jan 01 (KNS): Former MLA and Apni Party District President Srinagar Noor Mohammad Sheikh on Saturday visited Unani hospital at Shalteng, Srinagar where he interacted with the patients and staff members.

In a statement issued here, Noor Mohammad said that services provided by the hospital are highly commendable and have gained a new pace after the appointment of Dr. Farooq as Superintendent.

“I have been given an extensive tour of this medical facility by Dr. Farooq Ji. It gives me immense pleasure to see that a laboratory has been operationalised in this health facility. However, there still exists a dire need of various laboratory machines and other requisite equipment to be inducted at the hospital,” he said.

Sheikh said the facility also needs some infrastructural upgradation with regards to the painting of walls etc and I will definitely raise such pressing issues with the concerned authorities so that adequate funds are allocated to the hospital in order to facilitate its smooth functioning.

He also asserted that funds for incorporating an ECG machine to the hospital was sanctioned in 2016 during his stint as MLA Batamaloo but until this day no steps have been taken for its installation.

“Even those members present at that time have persistently raised this demand wherein DC Srinagar had also allocated certain funds for installing an ECG machine in the facility. However, even after five years the local inhabitants are kept waiting for its arrival. I will also discuss this issue with the authorities’ in-charge in order to provide relief to the people,” he said. (KNS)
