NOOR-E-WUJOOD – Honoring the Courage of Terror-Affected Persons With Disabilities

Kupwara, Dec 03 (KNS): In a statement issued to KNS, the Save Youth Save Future Foundation said that it organised a programme titled “NOOR-E-WUJOOD” at Town Hall Kupwara to mark the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. The event was led by Foundation Chairman Wajahat Farooq Bhat and attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Gulzar Ahmed Bhat, Anika Nazir, President of the Women’s Wing of the Foundation, and other invited guests.

The Foundation said the programme aimed to acknowledge and support terror-affected individuals who have been left with permanent disabilities and to give them a space to share their experiences and concerns.

The event began with a welcome address by Anika Nazir, who spoke about the need for continued social and institutional support for women who have been disabled due to terrorism.

During the interaction, several terror-affected individuals spoke about the impact of violence on their lives, families, and livelihoods.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelThey also discussed challenges related to rehabilitation, healthcare, and employment.

According to the statement, ADC Kupwara Gulzar Ahmed Bhat appreciated the Foundation’s work and acknowledged the strength shown by the affected individuals. He said community support, timely medical care, and institutional assistance are essential for helping them live with dignity.

A medical camp set up by the District Administration provided basic health services to participants.

Chairman Wajahat Farooq Bhat said the Foundation remains committed to empowering terror victims and called for collective responsibility in ensuring their well-being. He also thanked the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, for his support and efforts toward justice and relief for terror-affected families.

The Foundation expressed gratitude to the District Administration Kupwara and partner organisations for supporting the successful conduct of “NOOR-E-WUJOOD.”(KNS)
