Srinagar, Feb 02 (KNS): Residents of Noorbagh area are up in arms against the Power Development department (PDD) authorities against the unscheduled power cuts, blocked traffic movements for hours here today.
People in Hundreds including students and women after noon here from Noorbagh protested against the Power development department over unscheduled power cuts in their area, they halted the traffic for two hours.
Shouting slogans against the PDD, and government an elderly woman told KNS that they are tired up with the long hour unscheduled power cuts, so they decided to protest, so their voices could be heard.
“We are tired up with unscheduled long hour power cuts. We protest so our voices reach up to authorities,” an elderly Woman said.
People here on early morning assembled on the road blocked the traffic for more than two hours on the and staged protest against the PDD and Government over unscheduled long hour power cuts in their area.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
A student of class 10th told KNS that their annual examination are going on and electricity is playing hide and seek which effects their studies.
“Our examinations are going on and the electricity is playing hide and seek for past month mostly during the peak hours.”
While residents said that they despite paying huge electricity bills on time, the PDD has always followed their trend on curtailment.
People threaten that they would not move until, Chief Engineer or minister for PDD should come to listen them. (KNS)
