Nobody can remove UN office from Srinagar: Soz

‘BJP MLA’s ‘impractical plea’ won’t yield any advantage’

Srinagar, Jan 29 (KNS): Former Union Minister and senior congress leader, Prof Saifuddin Soz on Sunday said that neither India nor Pakistan can remove the UN office from Srinagar.
In a statement issued to KNS, Soz said, “Jammu’s BJP MLA Ravinder Raina represented the BJP’s Wishful Thinking that this party can adopt innovations that can resolve BJP’s crisis in its relation with Pakistan and its stubborn attitude of ignoring the recent revolt in Kashmir and not initiating the dialogue process.”
He said that the BJP MLA will have realized the ‘absurdity’ of suggesting the removal of UN office from Srinagar, as neither India nor Pakistan can do it.
“I have an assessment that by the time the elections in Uttar Pradesh are over, Prime Minister Modi will have realized that the only course available to India is opening the Composite Dialogue with Pakistan and also opening an effective dialogue with the people of Kashmir, especially, the Hurriyat Conference which recently represented the anger in the minds of Kashmiris,” he said.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
He added that PM Modi will also have realized that Kashmir is a political problem and it has to be resolved politically and dialogue is a situation that is wholly imperative for India. “Any suggestions like Ravinder Raina’s impractical plea or suggestions like tempering with the Indus Water Treaty, can never yield any advantage for India,” he said.
Soz added that PM Modi will also have to adopt the same political course in relation with Pakistan and also with Kashmir, which PM Bajpai and PM Dr. Manmohan Singh were eager to adopt, but peculiar circumstances didn’t help them to achieve their goal.
“I am so sure of correctness of what I am saying on the subject, today,” he added. (KNS)
