Srinagar, Nov 12: Handwara police Saturday said that they have taken up the matter of frisking with Army. They said that Army clarified that no any unnecessary frisking is being conducted in the area.
Senior Superintendent of Police Handwara Ghulam Jeelani Wani told KNS over phone that they took the matter with concerned Army Brigadier Commander. “The Army officer clarified that it only closes the gate in the area for security reasons in the evening.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelHowever, sometimes, after receiving inputs about the presence of militants, a frisking is conducted,” he added.
“Army is for the security of public and no unnecessary move is being carried which could result in hardships to commuters,” he said. (KNS)
