Srinagar, Aug 22 (KNS): The incarcerated chairman of Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) Shabir Ahmad Shah on Monday rejected the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s statement that there is a “need to find a permanent and lasting solution to the (Kashmir) problem within the framework of the Constitution”.
In a statement issued to KNS, Shah said J&K is not a part of India and that the people of the State demand resolution of the Kashmir dispute as per UN resolutions or through tripartite dialogue. “India has usurped the territory of J&K and is controlling it with military might besides it is denying the people of this State their right to decide their political future,” he said.
Shah said the people of Jammu Kashmir aren’t sacrificing their lives for any development or employment but for the achievement of that right which has been acknowledged by the international community. “Even there are 18 resolutions passed in the UN Security Council regarding the dispute which too are acknowledged by the world nations. So there is no point resolving this issue within the framework of Indian Constitution,” he said.
Terming the remarks of Indian Finance Minister Arun Jaitley as “provocative”, Shah said despite using worst kind of oppression against Kashmiris for the last 70 years, Indian rulers are yet to comprehend that the people of Jammu Kashmir never succumbed to such state-sponsored brutalities but continued fighting against the forcible rule of India with utmost steadfastness.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
The DFP chairman also condemned Jaitley’s statement wherein he pointed towards strict action against the religious leaders and scholars saying that in freedom movements of the world, the religious class has always played a pivotal role.
On Dr Jitendra Singh’s assertions, Shah said GIlgit or Balochistan “isn’t any issue but Kashmir definitely is”.
Shah reiterated his appeal to people to exhibit steadfastness and continue struggling with the hope that we will succeed in our mission. He also condemned the unleashing of atrocities upon people by the government forces in the nook and corner of the State saying the so-called authorities must bear in mind that they cannot break the resolve of the people who have firmly resolved to take the movement to its logical conclusion.
Meanwhile, a DFP spokesperson has expressed grief over the martyrdom of a youth of Nowhatta Irfan Fayaz Wani saying in Kashmir, people are killed over registering peaceful protests while as the puppet government continues to dance to the tunes of New Delhi. He expressed solidarity with the bereaved family.
Meanwhile, Freedom Party organised a public protest in Dayalgam, Islamabad in which Ishfaq Ahmad, Aadil Wagay, and other party activists took part. DFP leader Er Farooq Ahmad Khan while addressing a huge public gathering said we will not rest till we take the freedom movement to its logical end. (KNS)
