Srinagar, Jan 7 (KNS): In a most bizarre and disrespectful affairs, the general administration has not downed the state flag even after the announcement of the death of the chief minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed.
Mufti, 79, passed away on Thursday at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi
Whenever the head of any state dies in office, the state flag hoisted on office buildings should be downed in a sign of mourning.
“However, the Civil Secretariat has not done that till now.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelIt is bizarre and disrespect to the state head,” an official of the secretariat told KNS.
Sources said that till 10.32 am, the state flag at both the offices of secretariat, Jammu and Kashmir as well, the flag was not put down.
“Even more than three hours into the death of the state head, the flag is still hoisted,” an official said in the secretariat. (KNS)
