Srinagar, Jul 14 (KNS): The residents of several Kupwara villages are up in arms against the authorities for failing to construct the roads in their area, which according to them has resulted in immense hardships to inhabitants of several villages.
A delegation comprising of locals told KNS that the authorities have failed to construct the Kukroosa to Waisa road in their area thereby resulted in hardships to eight villages including Dachina, Androoth, zafarkhani, Chak, Sarmarg, Khanabal, Munjdori and Dogripora in Handwara area of Kupwara district.
The residents said that the work to construct the road stretched on two kilometers was started in the year 2005 by PMGSY but the authorities left the work mid way.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel“The official apathy has left the residents here to suffer as the non-availability of road in the village has affected the villagers mostly patients,” they said.
They said that they approached to the higher ups several times in this regard but unfortunately nothing has been done so far.
“We appeal the authorities to look into the matter and redress our genuine grievance at earliest,” the villagers demanded. (KNS)
