Srinagar August 02 (KNS):  The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference Senior leader and State Secretary Sakina Itoo on Tuesday said that there are no parallels to JKNC's record of public service.

This she said while addressing a one day Workers’ convention at Malwan Damhal Hanji Pora. The shared degree of public service done by NC has no parallels, she said adding, "Where in the world do you get to see the fate of lakhs of hapless peasantry change overnight? Where in the world do you find a government that makes education free upto university level? Our adversaries have no agenda and vision to take on the imminent challenges faced by our youth.”

Among others DDC members Jameela Choudhary, YNC South Zone President Peerzada Feroze were also present.

“People understand the significance of a stable popular government, especially in Jammu and Kashmir which is confronted with problems of varied nature. The region is again at a critical stage of its history, which demands a formidable force like NC to take on the reins of power to salvage the region from the vortex it's caught in. We have long been shaping the path of development in J&K, which made the poorest of the poor, the masters of their own destiny. There is no substitute to NC, ours is the only political force which is trusted by people. Our work in terms of poverty alleviation , free education, land to tiller, single line administration, Panchayati Raj speaks for it our ideology is wedded to the people, particularly poor, workers, marginal traders, artisans, hawkers, small agriculturalists, and socially deprived sections of our society. It will remain so,” she said.

She added that the promises made by the current ruling dispensation on employment generation has turned out to be a pipe dream. "Our educated and skilled youth are only fed hollow slogans. There is no end to their miseries. What can match the efforts of Dr Farooq Abdullah, who during his stint as CM created four lakh posts for RET's? What can match the efforts of Omar Sahib who has revolutionised Skill development and entrepreneurship development among our youth. All our youth want is a compassionate hand-holding to help them achieve new heights,” she added.

On the occasion she thanked the party workers for their overwhelming response in the party activities. “I am happy to see the party getting stronger in every nook and corner of the Kulgam district. We must keep up with the tempo and defeat those who are hellbent to snatch our rights and dignity.” (KNS)
