‘No danger of this disease in this part of the world’

Srinagar, Jan 31 (KNS): Doctors Association Kashmir Sunday said that there is no need to panic about Zika virus in Kashmir.
President DAK Dr G.M Mir in a statement to KNS said Zika virus spreads through aedes mosquito which is not seen in Kashmir so at present there is no danger of this disease in this part of the world.
“One individual in order to stay in news is uploading news from Internet and confusing the public here about the virus,” Dr Mir said, while referring to the statement of another DAK faction yesterday on the virus.
Dr Mir appealed to the people not to pay heed to such rumour mongers and should listen only to the experts in the field.
“It is in place to mention here that after yesterday's press statement by this self styled doctors president lot of panic stricken pregnant ladies where seen rushing to different valley hospitals for the fear of carrying the disease,” the DAK head said.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
He said that being winter mosquitoes are not any way seen and is not breeding ground for them.
“We appeal to people that they should only listen to people who are authorised to speak on such subjects officially,” he said, appealing to the authorities to come out with an official statement on the subject on that all the speculations and rumour mongering is put to rest. (KNS)
