A non-local student told KNS that they have no issues with Kashmiri students as they are their brothers. “The only issue is between police, CRPF and us as the police. CRPF personnel are continuously harassing us from last couple of days,” he said.

CRPF Commandant Bhavesh Choudhary told KNS that the situation in the campus is peaceful and all the issues have been resolved.
On Friday last week, the campus had witnessed clashes between local and outstation students over India's defeat in the semi-final match in the World T20 tournament.
After the clashes, the NIT authorities had shut down the institute which was reopened on Tuesday. (KNS)
