No fixed deadline for Panchayat polls: Minister Javid Dar


Srinagar Nov 10(KNS): Minister Javed Ahmed Dar on Monday said that there is no fixed date as of now for Panchayat elections the government will discuss Panchayat elections only after the ongoing bypoll process is completed.

Dar said people have been demanding these elections for a long time due to vacancies in several villages, but the Election Commission must first complete the current cycle. “Let these elections take place first, then we will talk about the Panchayat,” he said as per KNS.

When asked about a possible deadline, Dar stated there is no fixed date as of now. He said the bill related to the election process was recently passed in the session and the schedule will be announced after the current election concludes.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

Speaking on preparations in Budgam, Dar said that arrangements on the ground were visible. He referred to large gatherings and public participation in the district. He that the 14th will further reflect the party’s presence.

On questions about party candidates and support bases, Dar said every voter has the right to choose freely. He said voters can elect their representatives and shape their society through the democratic process. He said the people of Budgam supported their former MLA and the party expects similar support for the local candidate, Agha Mahmood.(KNS)
