NIT Srinagar’s IIED Centre’s organizes internal Smart India Hackathon

 
Srinagar, March 30:(KNS)  The Innovation, Incubation, and Entrepreneurship Development (IIED) Centre of the National Institute of Technology Srinagar (NIT) organized Internal Smart India Hackathon 2022 on the campus.
Director NIT, Prof. (Dr.) Rakesh Sehgal was the chief guest for the event, Head IIEDC Dr. Saad Parvez was a special guest on the occasion, and Dr. Dinesh Kumar Rajendran Convenor IIC, NIT Srinagar was coordinator of Internal Smart India Hackathon 2022.
In his key address, Prof. Sehgal talked about the growing startup culture and its craze among youth. He congratulated all participants and encouraged them to be part of such events in the future.
Registrar NIT Srinagar, Prof. Syed Kaiser Bukhari appreciated the organizers for conducting Hackathon 2022 on the campus. He said these activities are need of the hour and will explore more in-depth knowledge to the participants.
“NIT Srinagar will be organizing similar programs in future also," Prof. Bukhari said.
Head IIED Centre, Prof. Saad Parvez also talked about growing startup culture and how IIEDC is helping to grow that culture in NIT Srinagar as well as in the Kashmir valley.
“This Hackathon is going to be a pivotal point for budding entrepreneurs. IIEDC is always there to help these budding entrepreneurs in the region,” he said.
The event was attended by Hundreds of NIT Students in both online and offline mode. The ideas presented by each team were unique and are from diverse fields.
Smart India Hackathon is a nationwide initiative to provide students with a platform to solve some of the pressing problems we face in our daily lives, and thus inculcate a culture of product innovation and a mindset of problem-solving.
Dozens of Students team from NIT Srinagar pitched their startup ideas in front of the Jury Panel consisting of Dr. Dinesh (Assistant Professor, Dept. of Mechanical Engineering), Dr. Veningston K (Assistant Professor, Dept. of Computer Science & Engineering), and Mr. Shahrukh (Incubation Manager, IIEDC- NIT Srinagar).
The closing remarks were presented by Dr. Dinesh, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Mechanical Engineering. He congratulated all participants and talked about these initiatives are of great help to society and to the future of the nation as well as the world.
Dr. Kumar also appreciated the IIEDC team for organizing the event and for the smooth conduct of the event.)(KNS)
