NIA nets key Pulwama resident in Delhi blast case amid ongoing probe

New Delhi, Nov 16(KNS): n a major development in the Red Fort area car bomb blast case, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested a Kashmiri resident who allegedly conspired with the suicide bomber to execute the attack that killed 10 people and injured around 25 others.

The NIA, as per the KNS, arrested Amir Rashid Ali, a resident of Samboora, Pampore in Jammu and Kashmir, from Delhi. The car used in the blast was registered in his name, prompting the agency to launch an extensive search operation after taking over the investigation from Delhi Police.

According to the NIA, Amir had travelled to Delhi to assist the suspected suicide bomber, Dr. Umar Un Nabi, in purchasing the vehicle that was later turned into a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device (VBIED).

The agency has forensically confirmed that Umar, who died in the explosion, was the driver of the VBIED.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelUmar, a resident of Pulwama district, was an Assistant Professor in the Department of General Medicine at Al-Falah University in Faridabad.

The NIA has also seized another vehicle belonging to Umar, which is currently being examined for potential evidence. Investigators have so far examined 73 witnesses, including several blast survivors, as part of the ongoing probe into the November 10 explosion.

Working in close coordination with Delhi Police, Jammu and Kashmir Police, Haryana Police, Uttar Pradesh Police and other central agencies, the NIA said it is pursuing multiple leads to uncover the wider conspiracy and identify all individuals connected to the plot.(KNS).
