NHM employees posted in Kargil without salaries for 3 months, seek LG Ladakh’s intervention

Srinagar, July 5 (KNS): The employees of National Health Mission posted in Kargil region of the Ladakh Union Territory on Wednesday alleged that they are without salaries for the last 3 months even as they have apprised the authorities concerned several times.

Talking to Kashmir News Service (KNS), the aggrieved employees told over phone that they have been deprived of their salaries for the last 3 months for reasons best to known to their higher ups.

They said that they have apprised the authorities concerned several times about the same issue but nothing concrete has been done so far.

“Employees working under NHM in Leh are being given salaries on regular basis, but for some reasons the employees posted in Kargil region have not been paid their salaries for the last 3 months, which is highly regrettable,” said one of the employees, wishing not be named.

He said that they have been attending to their duties on a regular basis but despite that they have not been paid their salaries.

“Even on the eve of Eid-ul-Adha they were deprived of their salaries. This is totally injustice with us. We have been working regularly and that too by being away from home, but still over salaries have been withheld,” he said.

The employees appealed to the Lt Governor Ladakh and officials of the department concerned to look into the matter and help resolve their genuine grievances at an earliest. (KNS)
