NH-44 inspection carried out amid rainfall; commuter safety priority ; DIG Traffic

 Ramban, Apr 8 (KNS): Amid continuous rainfall triggering shooting stones and blockages on National Highway-44, the DIG Traffic Range Jammu, Dr. Mohd. Haseeb Mughal (IPS), conducted an extensive inspection of vulnerable stretches at Nashri, Dhalwas, Karool, and Peerah on Wednesday, emphasising that commuter safety remains a top priority.

 
Officials said the highway witnessed disruption in vehicular movement due to adverse weather conditions. The DIG reviewed ongoing restoration work with NHAI officials and traffic police personnel, issuing on-the-spot directives for expeditious clearance of affected stretches and safe release of stranded vehicles.
 
A meeting was also held near Nashri check post, where Dr.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelMughal stressed the need for physical presence and alertness of traffic staff, proper two-way traffic management in coordination with local administration, and maximum use of public address systems. Traffic Control Units (TCU) at Jammu and Ramban have been directed to update real-time situation regularly.
 
The DIG appealed to commuters to check updates from TCU or police control rooms before planning travel and cooperate with traffic personnel deployed on the highway.
