Kupwara, Oct 07 (KNS): The first General Body meeting of private Schools Association of Kupwara was today held in Town Hall Kupwara. The meeting holds significance as it was the first for the newly elected officer bearers of the Association.

The meeting was presided over by Er Malik Nazir Ahmad District president PSA Kupwara and Secretary PSAJK G N Shakir was chief guest on the occasion. President PSAJK G N Var addressed the meeting through video conferencing.

All the executive members of PSA Kupwara attended the meeting and more then 200 school chairperson participated in the meeting. The dice was represented by Altaf Qureshi Ex vice president of PSA Kupwara. Many school chairpersons from different zones also spoke on the occasion. The other speakers include Farooq Ahmad Peer (vice president) Mir Javed (secretary PSA Kupwara) M A Baba (chief advisor) Shiekh Zahoor (secretary finance) Shiekh Parvaiz (Director Events and sports council) Khursheed Ahmad Malla (zonal president Langate) and A R Sofi Director Academic council.

The speakers highlighted the role of spreading of education in Kashmir. They said that steps are being taken to bring quality and world class education to every corner and remote areas of Kashmir. They said the PSAJK has already signed agreements and held consultation with top educationists around the world. The aim is to provide same level of world class education to Kupwara as is given to students in Srinagar or any other urban centre, they said. “No students should feel discriminated or left behind. A quality education will enhance our ability to exploit potential of our students spread all over the valley. Be it in remote area of Karnah or urban centre of Srinagar, our valley is full of talented youth. They just need some guidance and good education,” Var said.

Stress was laid by all speakers for the growth and development of the Association since only a strong Association can help out Private schools to come out of dilemma faced by them since last three years. Various problems faced by private schools were highlighted by speakers from the Audience. Members of three nominated councils were also announced.

Mustafa Bashir will head Grievance and Public Relations council while as B A Shah was nominated as District coordinator, Altaf Qureshi as Sr Executive Member, Muneer Mohudin  as Sr Executive Member and Rayees Ahmad as Deputy coordinator (B A SHAH District coordinator PSA Kupwara).

G N Shakir Secretary PSAJK also spoke on the occasion. Er Malik Nazir Ahmad president PSA Kupwara and host of the meeting thanked all the members for their participation. (KNS)
