Srinagar, Dec 02 (KNS): Reacting against the New Delhi’s statement that it will hold talks with all pro-freedom leaders of Jammu Kashmir within the Indian Constitution, the Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) chairman Shabir Ahmad Shah termed it a “joke”, saying the Kashmir dispute is not any “administrative issue” between New Delhi and Srinagar.
“Kashmir is not any administrative issue between New Delhi and Srinagar but an internationally accepted dispute linked with the fate of about 1.5 billion people,” Shah said in a statement to KNS.
He said Kashmir is an issue of right to self-determination of its people and awaits resolution through the implementation of UN resolutions or through meaningful tripartite talks between Kashmiri pro-freedom leadership, Pakistan and India.
Shah said although every issue is resolved through talks but the condition of holding it within the framework of Indian Constitution is against the spirit of dialogue.
“It seems India, through such preconditions, is conspiring to make Kashmiris accept its forcible rule but the people of Kashmir will never let it happen,” Shah said.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Terming the slapping of fresh PSA on incarcerated Muslim League chairman Masarat Alam Bhat as “unlawful”, Shah said the leader is not even produced before court and is booked under black laws.
“This way, authorities only prolong the detention of pro-freedom leaders,” he said.
Shah also said the Kashmiri prisoners languishing in state and Indian jails are treated very badly by jail authorities. He said these prisoners fall into the category of ‘prisoners of war’ and are treated as per the provisions laid by the UN charter.
He expressed solidarity with all the prisoners and said the nation will never forget their sacrifices.
Meanwhile, Shabir Ahmad Shah today visited the residences of GN Zaki and expressed condolence with him on demise of his mother.
He also condoled the demise of father of People’s League chairman Muhammad Yasin Ataai and visited his residence where he expressed condolence and solidarity with the bereaved family and prayed for heavenly abode of the deceased. (KNS)
