Need some rest, be sensible ; NC's Salman Sagar hits back at LoP Sunil Sharma

Srinagar, Jun 1 (KNS): National Conference leader and MLA Hazratbal Salman Sagar on Monday hit out at Leader of Opposition Sunil Sharma saying the BJP leader needed "rest" and should behave sensibly instead of making irrelevant statements to remain in news.

Speaking to news agency Kashmir News Service (KNS) outside the Chief Minister's residence here, MLA Sagar dismissed Sharama's recent remarks questioning the NC's political relevance.

"He has no work left. He has to sit in opposition for another three-and-a-half years. So I think he needs some rest and needs to be sensible. He is lowering his position," Sagar said.

Asserting that the National Conference remained strong, the MLA said the party had completed 100 years of service since 1931 based on principles and loyalty.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

"From 2014 to 2019, thousands of attempts have been made. None succeeded. They will continue to fail. NC was strong yesterday, it is strong today," he said.

MLA Sagar said a delegation of NC leaders met Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to thank him for reviving SDH Habbak hospital in Hazratbal constituency.

"We also discussed functionalisation of the maternity hospital in Zakura and widening of the main Malbagh-Elahi Bagh road. The project costs around Rs 70 crore," he said, expressing hope that all issues would be resolved. (KNS)
