Addresses District Budgam, Srinagar Working Committee meeting

Srinagar Mar 27 (KNS): The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference Vice President Omar Abdullah on Wednesday said the upcoming general elections provides us an opportunity to show our reejction for GoI's August 05, 2019 actions.

According to a statement issued to KNS reads that this he said while addressing a District Working Committee meeting of Budgam at the party's District headquarters Mujahid Manzil, Srinagar.

Among others Party General Secretary Ali Muhammad Sagar, Provincial President Nasir Aslam Wani, Senior Leaders Abdul Rahim Rather, Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi, Political Advisor to VP Mudassar Shahmiri, Central Zone President Ali Muhammad Dar, Senior leaders Dr. Muhammad Shafi, Saif Ud Din Bhat, Minority wing  coordinator Sardar JS Azad, District President Budgam GN Bhat, Agha Yousuf, YNC, Women's wing, and party's local unit functionaries were also present on the occasion.

Omar said the reason why BJP & its subsidiary parties here have united against NC is because JKNC has not accepted the actions of August 05, 2019. He said, "These strange bedfellows were forced to club together despite their differences. There is nothing in common between them. They don't look into each other's eyes. Yet they were forced to club against us. This is not the first time, New Delhi is pitching parties against us. We have outlived such situations successfully in the past as well. 1977 elections witnessed how New Delhi propped up a massive alliance of politicians, religious leaders, and other organizations against us. But people outrightly rejected them. Today also people are with us, and as long as we have people's support no power on earth can harm us."

"The party will come up with a road map to address mounting public woes in the upcoming Assembly elections when they are held in August & September later this year. We will come up with a manifesto to ease administrative discomfort, address soaring unemployment, skyrocketing electricity bills during the run upto assembly elections. This time it's about making our stance clear to powers in Delhi and the world that we didn't approve of the decisions of August 2019."

The gathering was also addressed by party leaders who emphasised on the need to make outreach programmes robust and successful.

Earlier Omar Abdullah presided over a meeting of District Working committee Srinagar at the party headquarters Nawa-e-Subha, Srinagar.

The meeting was convened by District President Srinagar Peer Afaq Ahmad. Among others General Secretary Ali Muhammad Sagar, Provincial President Nasir Aslam Wani, Chief Spokesperson Tanvir Sadiq, Political Advisor to President Mushtaq Guroo, Political Advisor to VP Mudassar Shahmiri, Senior leaders Mubarak Gul, Shameema Firdous, Irfan Shah, Ahsan Pardesi, Salman Ali Sagar, Er. Sabiya Qadri, Minority wing Coordinator JS Azad, Youth leader Younis Mubarak Gul, Srinagar District functionaries Dr. Muhammad Syed, Qaisar Jalali, Block Presidents and other functionaries were present on the occasion.
