Srinagar, Dec 9 (KNS) : The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference State Spokesperson Imran Nabi Dar Tuesday criticized the People’s Democratic Party for its recent ‘Kath Baath’ event in Srinagar, terming it a paradox and highlighting the party’s inconsistent stance on youth issues in Jammu and Kashmir.
"While PDP attempts to project itself as a youth-friendly party, the reality is far from it. This is the same party that, during its tenure, imposed the Public Safety Act (PSA) on thousands of young people, criminalizing their voices and aspirations. It was the same party that used pellet guns against unarmed protesters, leading to thousands of injuries and permanent disabilities," Dar said in a statement issued.
He further emphasized that the consequences of the PDP's past actions, primarily among them being their alliance with the BJP, are still being felt across the region. "The suffering inflicted on our youth, the erosion of their rights, and the trauma caused by their policies are issues that Kashmir is still grappling with today," Dar added.
Referring to PDP's attempt to reframe its image in the eyes of the youth, Dar warned the public not to be misled by political gimmicks.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel"The PDP may try to create a façade of being in touch with the youth, but its track record speaks for itself. Their policies have only furthered the alienation of our younger generation. Under the NC-led government, we are committed to safeguarding the interests of the people, particularly the youth, and ensuring that their rights are respected and protected," Dar stated.
Highlighting the NC's pro-youth stance, Dar reiterated that the National Conference remains focused on long-term development and prosperity for Kashmir, with a special focus on empowering the youth, providing them with opportunities for education, employment, and a better future.
"In these challenging times, it is imperative that we work towards a better future for our youth, ensuring that their dreams and aspirations are not crushed by political opportunism. JKNC remains committed to the welfare of every citizen, particularly the youth, and will continue to stand firm against any party that seeks to undermine their rights," Dar said.(KNS)
