Srinagar, Dec 19 (KNS): National Conference (NC) has shut the doors for mainstream political defectors tending to switch sides for political gains ahead of Lok Sabha and assembly elections in an effort to discourage the unethical defection trends increasing with high intensity within the ranks of several political parties.
Top sources while disclosing this to Kashmir News Service (KNS) revealed that barring leaders who held the positions of ministers in the previous regimes, most of the ex-legislators and some sitting MLC’s are showing their inclination to join NC and are presently engaged in private meetings with the top leaders of the party.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
A top NC leader on conditions of anonymity while confirming the increasing tendency of the ex-legislators to join NC said, “National Conference president Dr Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah have dropped hints to close down the process of allowing defectors from other parties to join National Conference for the time being so that a bad precedence which would encourage unethical defection trends is not set in the state. National Conference is opposed to defections and does not want to encourage this trend at all as the party has always stood for competitive politics but not for the politics of defections.” (KNS)
