Says unwarranted delay in releasing the list puts future of hundreds of aspirants at stake

Srinagar Aug 25 (KNS) : The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference on Thursday expressed dismay over the inordinate delay in the release of the provisional selection list of the candidates who have qualified for Junior Assistant posts advertised in 2020-21 for various departments.

Lamenting the slack attitude of the government in the release of provisional selection list of the successful candidates, Party State Spokesperson Imran Nabi Dar said that a delegation of the Junior Assistant candidates had called on the party president Dr Farooq Abdullah and sought his intervention in the matter to safeguard the career of the thousands of meritorious candidates. Later the delegation reached Nawa e Subah and apprised the state spokesperson the problems they are facing.

"The visiting delegation of candidates said that most of the aspirants who have participated in this recruitment process are on the verge of crossing the age bar. Unwarranted delay in the release of the provisional list was putting at stake the career of hundreds of aspirants, most of whom come from very poor family backgrounds,” he said.

“JKSSB had advertised 1534 posts under successive seven notifications from 2020 to 21. The typing test for the same was held from Oct - Nov 2021, subsequently the written test was also held through CBT mode and the results of the same were also declared on 20th of March 2022. Since then the process has been put into a deep cold storage. The Government, far from aiding the troubled youth, is instead pushing them to new depths of despair. Since 2019, no recruitment at major posts have been made. Exams are held but final results never see the light of the day. Adding to this long list of unrecruited posts are these Junior Assistant candidates,” he said.

“This sorry state of affairs will nevertheless have adverse effects on the mental health of youth who burn midnight oil to secure their employment but the snail-paced J&K administration continues to fail their hard work, their dreams, their intellect and them in general.”(KNS)
