Ganderbal, Sep 02(KNS): Mehar Ali, son of National Conference leader Mian Altaf, filed his nomination papers from Kangan Assembly constituency on Monday.
He was accompanied by NC vice president Omar Abdullah, who expressed confidence in Mehar's victory.
Mehar is the fourth generation of his family to participate in elections from Kangan. Omar stated that Mehar will follow his family's legacy in serving the people.
Omar also spoke about Ram Madhav's visits to J&K, saying that Madhav has connections with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and was involved in the 2015 BJP-PDP alliance.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
When asked about the increasing number of liquor shops in Kashmir, Omar said that the National Conference will address the issue after the elections. He stated that the party will look into the "rampant openings of liquor shops in Kashmir" post elections.(KNS).
