Party functionaries streamline plans for commemorative event
Main event to be held at Qaid Mazar Naseem Bagh; similar commemorative functions to be held across J&K
Srinagar, 29 Nov (KNS) : The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference Saturday held a series of important preparatory meetings at the party headquarters, Nawa-e-Subha Srinagar, to review the arrangements for the upcoming 120th birth anniversary of Baba-e-Qoum, Sher-e-Kashmir Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah.
According to a press release issued ,The main commemorative event is scheduled to take place at Qaid Mazar, Naseem Bagh, Hazratbal Srinagar, where thousands of party workers, supporters, and people from diverse walks of life are expected to gather to pay homage to the towering leader.
The main meeting was chaired by District President Srinagar, Peer Afaq Ahmad, and attended by all block presidents of district Srinagar.
Addressing the gathering, Peer Afaq underscored the significance of the day and called upon party functionaries to ensure that all arrangements are executed smoothly and in a manner befitting the stature of Sher-e-Kashmir.

He also highlighted the need to uphold the legacy of the Sher-e-Kashmir by strengthening the party’s grassroots outreach.
This year’s commemorative programme will include Fatiha Khawani and Quran Khawani at the mausoleum. Party President Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Vice President and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah will lead the senior leadership, party cadre, and the general public in offering floral tributes and prayers at the resting place of the towering political figure who laid the foundations of modern Jammu and Kashmir.
Meanwhile, the Party’s State Women’s Wing President and MLA Habba Kadal Shameema Firdous chaired a parallel meeting with women’s wing office-bearers and district-level functionaries at the headquarters.
The review session was convened by Provincial President Kashmir Women’s Wing, Er. Sabiya Qadri, who stressed the active participation of women in the upcoming commemorative events.(KNS)
