Srinagar April 21:(KNS)  The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference on Thursday paid glowing tributes to former minister and veteran party leader Lt Abdul Gani Shah Veeri on his 7th death anniversary at Khanabal, Anantnag.

Party MP Anantnag Hasnain Masoodi presided over a commemorative function remembering Late Veeri sb at Housing Colony Khanabal. South Zone President Dr.Bashir Ahmed Veeri, District President Altaf Ahmed Wani, Abdul Majeed Bhat Larmi, State Spokesperson Imran Nabi Dar, Advocate Reyaz Ahmed Khan, Ab Rehman Tantray, DDC Chairman Anantnag Muhammad Yousuf Gorsi, block presidents, YNC functionaries were also present on the occasion. 

Recalling the personality of Late Veeri sahib, the functionaries said that late Veeri sahib was deeply connected to his people and devoted his life to their service and well-being without any self-seeking motives. 

“The fact that he was elected three times as a legislator is a testament to his popularity, social and public service and leadership,” they said adding, “Veeri’s selfless service to the party and the people is legendary. His legacy is that of honesty and social service. In Veeri Sahab, the party has a shining example of an exemplary career of statesmanship and sincerity that will continue to be emulated for a long time to come.”

The functionaries said that that late Veeri Sahib played a pioneering role in the political movement led by Sher e Kashmir Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah against oppression. 

Earlier floral tributes were paid at the Mazar of Late Veeri Sahab at his ancestral village Veeri by the party functionaries.(KNS)
