Srinagar, Apr 1 (KNS): National Conference (NC) legislator Shamima Firdous on Wednesday raised concern over the delay in allocation of funds under the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) meant for assisting needy households in Srinagar district.
Speaking to news agency Kashmir News Service (KNS) MLA Haba Kadal said she had moved a calling attention in the Assembly, pointing out that nearly eight to nine months have passed since the announcement was made regarding a component in the CDF for repairs of houses belonging to economically weaker sections.
“Funds were earmarked under Rs 20 lakh CDF component for such purposes, but they have not been allocated so far,” she said.
The NC legislator added that some financial provisions were also proposed through official orders, but the matter has been moving between offices without final approval.
MLA Haba Kadal urged the government to expedite the process and ensure timely release of funds so that beneficiaries can undertake necessary repairs.
She further added that the Chief Minister has assured that the issue will be resolved and the process for disbursement of funds will be initiated soon.(KNS)
