NC doesn’t celebrate fallout of PDP-BJP dispensation: Omar

Extends support to Governor in normalizing situation

Srinagar, Jun 19 (KNS): Former chief minister and National Conference NC) vice-president, Omar Abdullah on Tuesday said that his party doesn’t celebrate the fallout of PDP-BJP dispensation in the state, saying that he assured full support to the Governor N N Vohra with regard to normalizing the situation in Jammu and Kashmir.
“Don’t be under this mistake and illusion that we are celebrating the fallout of PDP-BJP. We are not. We are mourning the demise of democracy in the state,” Omar told reporters in a presser addressed at his Gupkar residence.
“I called Governor N N Vohra and assured my party’s full support to him in normalizing the situation here,” he said, adding that he also urged Vohra to take the steps at an earliest to hold the next elections in the state.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Reacting over Ram Madhav’s statement regarding the reasons behind breaking an alliance with PDP, Omar said, “if BJP is giving such kind of reasons then they both (PDP and BJP) are responsible for the current deteriorating situation in Kashmir.”
Saying that he was expecting the fallout of the dispensation later this year, Omar said, “I am not surprised over the fallout of the government but as I was expecting it later in the year. The only thing that is beyond my expectations is that it happened soon.”
Refusing to talk over the reasons behind the fallout of the dispensation, Omar said that “I can’t speculate it is BJP who can comment over it.”
He said that four years of alliance was only lust of power. (KNS)
