Srinagar, Jan 22 (KNS): Jammu Kashmir National Front chairman and Hurriyat leader Nayeem Ahmad Khan Friday went to Rawalpora, to pay homage to the mother of Shaheed Manzoor Ahmad Dar presumed martyred just two days back. Shaheed Manzoor’s mother Zeba Begum passed away yesterday.
According to a statement issued to KNS, paying tributes to late Zeba Begum, Nayeem Ahmad Khan said that Zeba was among thousands of mothers who suffered enormous trouble at the hands of Indian occupied forces and their collaborators but did not give away their resolve and steadfastness.
Zeba Begum of Rawalpora had reportedly refused to believe that her son Manzoor Ahmad Dar, who was subjected to custodial disappearance, is dead.
Nayeem Ahmad Khan pledged to safeguard the sacrifices of martyrs and their victim families.

He said that thousands of families are suffering and going through a continuous pain whose nears and dears were arrested and later disappeared by Indian forces or their collaborators.
Citing an example, Nayeem Ahmad Khan said that Siraj ul-din Farooqi was arrested on January 22, 1998 and disappeared in custody. He was arrested by BSF personnel from the residence of Commander Mushtaq Ahmad Zargar in Srinagar. Farooqi is brother in law of Mushtaq Ahmad Zargar.
He said that the family is going through terrible pain ever since the custodial disappearance of Farooqi. Nayeem Ahmad Khan said that same is the case with thousands of families in Kashmir. He again appealed human rights bodies and organisations to come forward and help them in order to trace their loved ones. (KNS)
