Srinagar, Feb 08 (KNS): Senior Hurriyat leader and National Front chairman Nayeem Ahmad Khan paid glorious tributes to Shaheed Muhammad Maqbool Bhat and Shaheed Muhammad Afzal Guru on the eve of their death anniversaries, respectively on February 11 and February 9.
In a statement issued to KNS, he said both the martyrs are the icons of the freedom movement of Kashmir. They will always be remembered as heroes of this suppressed nation, who challenged Indian legitimacy and rule in Jammu Kashmir. Had Maqbool Bhat and Afzal Guru bowed their heads before the oppressors, they would have been alive today but their conscience did not allow them to bow before the occupier India. They were men of vision. They knew their blood will nourish this freedom movement and bestow people of the state with guts to fight the giant oppressor.
Muhammad Maqbool Bhat and Afzal Guru both were booked under the bogus charges by Indian State and then given death penalty by Indian judiciary, without a fair trial. Even their mortal remains were not returned to their families.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelIndian state wanted to terrorise freedom loving Kashmiris by hanging their heroes. But Kashmiris demonstrate more passion and commitment towards their freedom movement despite these killings.
Bhat and Guru laid their lives for the better future of the nation. Kashmiris can never ever forget the sacrifices of these sons of the soil. The anniversaries of duo will always remind us about the biased Indian judicial system and the fake democracy of India.
Remembering our national heroes and observing their death anniversaries give us courage to continue the ongoing resistance movement. The day is not far when Indian state will recognise this legitimate movement for the right to self determination. India has failed to crush this movement despite using its brutal army might and the other colonial tactics. Killings, tourture, rapes and extra judicial murders in Kashmir did not help Indians to stop Kashmiris from demanding their birth right. The movement will be continued till it reaches to its logical end. (KNS)
